Kids Love Melting Beads
In School-Age 1
The children have been really interested in melting beads lately! Perler beads, also known as Hama beads (in Japan) or melty beads are small plastic beads that can be arranged on a peg board to form a design.melting beads Once the design is complete, you can use an iron to melt them together. This activity promotes fine motor skills, hand eye coordination and color recognition. It's fun for students to create designs inspired by their favorite video games, TV shows and cartoon characters.
Note: When ironing Perler beads, be sure to keep the heat moving in a circular motion and not too hard. If you iron too fast, the beads may not melt evenly and can be left with open holes. Also, some colors fuse faster than others.
